Idols of Bali |
| | The Balinese believe that the individual soul is reincarnated into many life times, until through numerous struggles and stages; it achieves union with the divine. Hinduism is a monotheistic religion with one God head, in Bali called "Ida Sang Hyang Widhi", "Sang Hyang Tunggal", or "Sang Hyang Cintya", Hinduism is often misunderstood as being a faith with many gods and goddesses (Dewas and Bhataris). | |

UN Peacekeepers |
| | The UN has been closely monitoring the conduct of the trials for war crimes committed the fight for independence in Timor. Reported April 4, 04: Despite the welcome progress Timor-Leste has achieved since its independence last year, persistent security and stability concerns prompted the Security Council today to adjust the composition and strength of the police component of the United Nations mission in the country and to slow the downsizing of the UN peacekeeping force. | |

Children of Indonesia |
| | The least little attention brings about a smile to the face of the Children of
Indonesia. Isolated island life can deprive children from knowledge of the outside world. Concern is mounting for the children who have been left separated or orphaned
by war, disease and poverty. As life resumes for the refugees, how can we give
these children back their childhoods?
|

Feeding Hungry Orphans and Villagers |
| | Feeding programs are needed for village children and separated orphans alike.
. As a part of "Operation Orphan Rescue," intermittent feeding programs for
children are a way to increase the heath of the poor while establishing
reconciliation between disagreeable villagers.
|

Disaster and War Damage |
| | Buildings and structures damaged by war are a common site in
conflict areas. Many homes were abandoned as families ran for their lives. Many of the mission people will never return. Some were lost in the war. Others are now residents of a refugee camp far far away. Many times, orphans will take shelter in these burned out buildings.
|

Frightened Villagers |
| | As we approach some villages, the people seem to disappear. Even a close inspection of the huts reveals no people. Smolder fires in the huts stand as a tell tale evidence that they are near by. We assumed they hid for protection from the strangers. | |
|

Natural Beauty of E Timor |
| | There are no words to describe God's nature revealed in the natural scenes painted before us. Timor is a paradise on the surface with the darkness of war in it's past. | |
|

Living as Refugees |
| | Our first opportunity to build a church home for orphans is among the refugee areas on the boarder between East and West Timor. During the drawn out war that ended in 2002, over 150,000 people lost their lives, leaving thousands of separated and orphaned children. | |
